Strange disapearences...

I am probably at risk of sounding excedingly stupid here, but why do loads of answers, not questions disappearing? Is it just me, or is this happening to everyone? Usually whole questions get taken off for whatever reason, but completely unoffensive single answers keep disappearing for me. Any clues why?

Some of mine have too - I get my email telling me I have an answer and there are no more answers than the last time I checked.

Strange things are happening.  I just checked 'My details' which told me there had been 44 answers to one particular question, and when I went to the question there were only 37 answers!

Additionally an automatic suspension feature has been added to ensure that excessive questions and answers by a user in a given period of time will be removed from the site until moderated.

 

Could this be the answer?

Thanks Wraith.  I hadn't noticed the Home Page comments about excessive questions and answers.  Does that mean that all questions and answers of offending posters will be removed until moderated or are they allowed a certain number before that happens.

 

Perhaps someone can explain what this actually means?

Continuing.  If an AB regular posts a knowledgeable and valuable answer to all threads on the site, will they be removed.  I am confused here.  Or am I just thick.  Help!

I'm pretty sure it means that anyone, offender or ligitimate poster, posting above a set number of questions and answers within the allocated time period will have all answers and questions above that limit removed. This does mean that offenders can still post as long as they don't reach the post limit.

I am now going to post this to try out this new system.  I have posted three answers on here as well as quite a few others tonight.  I wonder whether it will be allowed!

Wraith is spot on -- the automated suspension kicks in when a certain number of posts in a certain amount of time has been reached. This is reviewed as often as possible to ensure that legitimate posts are restored. We'll fine-tune the system, but I think it will have a positive impact on the site in general.

I am a new user on this site . I also posted 2 answers to questions on the 18th of Nov . They have both vanished !! What am I doing wrong ?
