Can anyone tell me why I have felt ill ever since I gave up smoking 7 months ago?
Has anyone else had the same experience?
I thought I would feel a million dollars!!!!!!!!!
I will never start again, but it makes me wonder why on earth I did do it, if this is the way I will feel all the time.
Many thanks

But all a sudden the coughing stopped his skin brightened up and his life too. Hope this applies to you too.
When I stopped smoking I just felt depressed; it was like grieving but that cleared up after a year and I'm so glad I stopped. In fact, there are no good reasons for smoking if only I'd learnt that as a teenager!

I stopped smoking 8 years ago .. and up until around 6 1/2 yrs I was still getting bad colds, chest infections and all sorts of viruses non-stop. I now take a multi-vit daily and presto - feel so much better. Of course, everyone is different and you must persevere as smoking is such a waste of everything!! Anyway - congratulations on ditching the evil weed - you will benefit in all sorts of ways very soon -I am sure.
Here's to zita green.
If you want to but really want to, you can. You decide to stop and though it's hard in the first 48 hours (addiction) and you give yourself no excuse and that's important NO EXCUSE to have a cigarette, within a couple of days you've cracked it. THEN it's the habit that kicks in, here again NO EXCUSE. You're on the other side and the lovely feeling of walking on a mountain topped with snow makes you feel wonderful.
You can feel down at first, but that's all part of the therapy...
Give it a go and tell us how you're getting on.... It's such a lovely feeling once you're controlling your own life...

Here's a way that makes things easier for those who want to stop smoking.
i was advised to sip from bottled still water everytime I felt like lighting up.
The urge for nicotine peaks at around 30 seconds, but returns again shortly afterwards.
Keep just having one or two little sips of water at that time.
After a week, smoking won't seem like such a good idea. You might still fancy a ciggie, but you won't crave one.
I smoked quite a lot in my teens, but I've not gone back to it. Good luck.
