All the green Skin So Soft products have the smell that the mossies hate, shower gel, spray etc etc. I used them very successfully last year, came home without a single bite and it smells great anyway! I have just heard about patches you can buy that you use like you would for HRT or when trying to give up smoking. They are called 'Don't Bite Me'. Not tried them, but those who have, swear by them?
you can buy online here http://avonshop.co.uk/
It's the Soft'n'Fresh variety. Avon doesn't actually claim that it has insect repelling properties, but does acknowledge that certain of its ingredients are known to and that customers do buy it for this reason.
Note 'insect' and not specifically '.mosquito' repellent.

alot of camping shops now sell it as do shops and garages around the highlands of Scotland because it is so good for the midges but it is quite a bit more expensive. It was on special on Avon last month so was only about 1.75. You might not get that offer online. If you don't have a local Avon then your best bet would be to use their website.
Joannie, I'm tempted to agree with you, even though I'm an an Avon rep. I think the same goes for most products of this nature.
Ethandron, although the variety I suggested is still available, Avon ha very recently rebranded the SSS range, and I'm not sure whether they're planning to replace or withdraw Soft'n'Fresh. It's worth contacting them, though. They do tend to listen to their customers and have been known to reintroduce popular products if there is sufficient demand - and SSS is one of their top sellers.
