Hi i am a male of young age and i think i am suffering from Bipolar Disorder. I have weird mood swings, i suffer from being really happy and then really depressed and i do things without acting and have been wasting a lot of money on nothing lately.Do you think this could be signs of it because i wanted to know if i was making the right decision to go to a doctor and get help because it is really bugging me because i know there is something not right ever since i was in a relationship last year and it ended after two months i have been wonky. Thanks if you can help.

However, BPD is not the only condition that presents with these. Therefore go and see your doctor in any case, if only to rule it out and find out exactly why you're feeling the way you do. Please don't feel you're wasting the doctor's time.

bpd .... but also puberty / being a teen
how long do the swings last?
certainly not a waste of doctor's time though
read AFTER you've been - if you read first - you could just absorb symptoms - you'll almost certainly skew the answers.
see what doc says = then read up on that ... see if it fits ... not the other way round

have you been watching Eastenders? this is a replica of a current storyline. don't convince yourself you have something because you've seen it on tv, but go to the doctors for a chat anyway.
most of us feel up and down sometimes, and are capable of blowing money that we may or may not have. if you're worrying, that's probably making it a bigger deal than your actual "symptoms". see your gp for some reassurance.

Sara - I'm always doing that. Convincing myself I have something just because I've seen it on TV.
I agree with Troll - don't read until after you have been to the docs. I decided I had Social Anxiety after reading about it on the internet, then went to docs, referred to counsellor who told me I have SA. Do I really have it or did I just convince myself I did and therefore now I do? Sometimes that can happen!
I'm doing the same watching Eastenders I'm thinking I might have bi polar.
Good luck and go see the doc!
