Hi - I'm 6 months pregnant (can't believe how quickly its going!) and my bump is just sooo itchy. I know its because of the stretching skin, I have been using Bio Oil to help prevent stretch marks (so far so good) but it doesn't do anything to ease the itching. It wasn't anything like so bad during my last pregnancy. Can anyone rec a lotion or cream that will help ease the itch that is safe in pregnancy please? I've scratched myself red raw :-(

Thanks xx

why not try something like a simple aqueous cream and keep it cool in the fridge or something?
Calamine lotion?

Anusol?

More than likely daisy, more than likely....
such are the joys of pregnancy !

You wait til you've given birth - you'll wish an itchy bum were the only symptoms from that area...
Hi upsy
I was the same in my 9th month. I went to the docs as I scratched mine til they bled. He gave me a big bottle of E45 lotion. It only helped for a few minuted though to honest. They have an E45 for itchy skin though now. See if that's suitable. I also used to get my hubby to dab calamine lotion on the marks. Keep it in the fridge. Really try hard not to scratch though. I'm really scarred.
lol, sqad, if i could have fit in the fridge at 6 months pregnant then i would have done.
My bump never itched too badly, but my legs were awful for itching. I used to scratch my shins til they bled and every half hour i was stood in my bath pouring freezing cold water over them.
Yes, my shins were like that too red!
I'd do it all again though. But not just yet. lol!

Thanks lolly- spoke to pharmacist today can only use e45 or similar - any anti-itch cream has antihistamine in it so cannot be used. Will try not to itch too much :-)

Sal - am booked in for elective c-section with this one(horrendous time with my first) so will have different issues I guess!

Red - will go with your fridge idea for the aquaeous cream thanks again xx
