Where can I buy decent shoe insoles?

Not sure if this is the right category for clothing enquiries, but really need to know where to buy decent shoe insoles, which are more than paper thin. I suppose I could use bits of carpet in my shoes, but do not have any at the moment. I have bought some recently, but they do not seem to have done any good at all.

I am in the Midlands area, by the way, so can't go too far for them.

I had a pair of shoes that stretched and ended up too big for me, I now wear them with a pair or Milletts insoles in them, for walking shoes, they make my shoes fit again!

Most decent garden centres sell thick, fleecy insoles (for use in wellies I think).
