i too suffer with anxiety and depression, but I've been on meds for it for years.
I eventually dropped off about 3.30. Hope we have a better night tonight x
Can you keep still long enough to listen to audio books or those *relaxing* music CDs?...for the music Stream of Dreams by Don Gibson is a lovely one and as for audio books, anything read by Joe Dunlop, Rob Inglis and others are boring enough to send you to sleep or they could just make you turn it off, so how about an audio version of a book you love so much that you can just drift off. Woodelf.
Question Author
that's a great idea woodelf, i shall go and find my daughter's ipod. x
A mug of Horlicks tonight, after a warm bath.
Question Author
'trouble is, you get into bed thinking "i wonder if i'll sleep tonight" and so then you don't!
Tamasipan works well!
valerian root - from holland and barret. works a treat. u can get day time,or night time ones. they are for anxiety/depression. i take two of the nighttime tablets about half hour before i go to bed, and they dont knock me out, but they help me drift off and i dont wake once during the night (i have sleepless nights from my psoriosis - i itch teribly), but these really help for me.
Question Author
that's interesting hotpink. i've started taking agnes castus and wondered if that could be keeping me awake. I'll have a look in h & b for that.
i took agnus castus for hormones, cant say i noticed any difference in my sleeping pattern. at the minute, im very stressed with work, and my itchy skin keeps me awake. im such a light sleeper, i wake up if i can hear a cat 4 streets away. but as i say, i dont stir at all when i take these. they're really cheap for a big bottle. i would deffo recommend that the first few nights you try them - do it when you're not at work the next morning, as i slept for england the first 2 or 3 nights
have you ever heard of a condition called restless leg syndrome ??? you may have that
Fybramyagia??? My wife has this and I have had to move into the spare room. Hope I`m wrong.
Question Author
yes i've heard of that but don't get it all the time, so didn't think it would be that.
i slept like a log last night!

If it's restless legs try drinking tonic water - the quinine in it helps.
---------------------------------------------------------
quinine is used for bladder infections, not the nervous system.
Question Author
i know that i had to drink a glass of tonic before bed when i got severe cramps in my calves, so..... yeah - i think it might be worth a try. x
Quinine is also used for restless legs - both my husband and mother in law suffer from it and the first thing the doc gave was quinine.
