Keirah is right, Except on your face.... use a specific facial exfoliant (try something from your supermarket to start with), and only do the face up to 2 times per week or you'll strip the oils in the skin - which ain't good!

Whether you're male or female, you should talk to someone at a day spa - they'll help you to 'diagnose' your skin and help with products - and yes real men DO go to day spas! ;-)

I think loofah is best, it is very efficient and doesn't scratch your skin at all.  Of course, the aim here is to exfoliate but without also scratching up your skin in a bad way.  You have to soak the loofah first so it's soft.  It's also easy on your hands as you're holding it.  Be sure to air dry it completely or it will grow mildew!  It should leave your skin soft and smooth but not red or irritated at all.  A single loofah can be used over and over again.

I think shower poufs don't work very well, they don't really exfoliate at all, they are just too soft, more like a sponge.  Buff Puffs are very scratchy and will scratch your hands as you use them, so I never use those.  They are made out of synthetic materials, that's why they are so scratchy.
