I'm on meds for dental pain too. I'm taking 2 paracetamol, then two hours later 2 ibruprofen, then 2 more paracetamol in 2 more hours. Just make sure in the whole day you don't take more than it says on the back of the back.

What strength Paracetamol, what strength Nurofen?
ring the dentist....
for better coverage i would suggest that you alternate them, take nurofen and then 2 or 3 hours later (read packs) take the paracetamol. Ensuring that you dont exceed the daily maximum dosage.

Thats how i ensure my children have best pain relief when ill.
not a medical person but I think you have to stagger them one is inflammatory and other is painkiller.
say 2 nurofen at 12 and 2 paracetomol at 2 for example.
on the other hand I will undoubtedly be told I'm wrong.......
Agre with Craft, we dont know what your dentist told you so ring them up

Sorry didnt say how much of each did I. I think it was 500 of paracetamol each tablets and 400 of nurofen each
I would take paracetamol, 2 every 6hours.
Sweet Jaysus! Ring the dentist. Surely, no-one is stupid enough to ask how many pills they should be taking from some strangers on a random website?!

Try 5 of each and wash them down with vodka.
another view........it'e not bl00dy rocke science.
Then why do they feel the need to ask people who they don't know. What if someone had said take 10 of each every 3 hours?
another-view....don't be silly.
What about a stiff upper lip - oh - you probably still have one!

How about read the instructions on the printed sheet that comes with the bottle?
Ok so your advice is to take 2 paracetamol every 2 hours? Thsi would leave them with a glut of Nurofen, which is obviously not what the dentist recommended. What if these paracetamol are super strength. Still advise taking 2?

lilacben - phone the dentist.
Stay off the pills. You want Vodka. And plenty of it.
another view....you are getting on my dick...read please, what I have advised......2 every six hours NOT 2 every 2hours.

lilachen can:
1) read the instructions.
2 ) ask her lover
3) Guess.
4) Ask on AB
5) ring the dentist

and she has chosen to ask on AB

So she has nurofen left....so what...the object is to relieve her pain.......and my response was my opinion.

and she has chose

Busybaby, many thanks. And for all the others who had a laugh at my expense I just thought someone would be in the same postiton as me, as busybaby was.! There is no need to be so rude.!!
but all people are prescribed different things.
Which is the point I was trying to make.
paracetamol only comes in 500mg per tab unless mixed with something else then it is 300mg/?? unless u have a script

You may take 1600mg of ibuprofen at once - however, it is usually taken as a slow release in that large a quanitity. So, the 400mg you may take with/at the same as the paracetamol but only 1 tablet not 2 - if they are 200mg then yes, take 2. Please make sure you eat before you take them

Generally you are told to take these every 4-6 hours. As your dentist didnt give you a script (I assume) then read the boxes
