don't know what it is, but i find myself swallow quite alot. even just like today i was in the waiting room for the dentist and i kept swallowing, at work, or anything. it's so weird. it just makes my mouth drier and if i take a sip of water i just swallow the water, then swallow again. and if i try just not to swallow, i end up either feeling like i have too much saliva in my mouth (so i then swallow to discover i didnt have much at all), or just automatically swallowing as if i have to (like when you get a twitch in your neck or something and you just twitch, i swallow). very very strange, had this for quite a while and was just wondering if anyone knows what it is?! cheers.
sorry, i dont know what it is, but as soon as i become aware of the swallowing action i find i cant do it anymore, its like my throat is paralysed, and i find that funny (funny peculiar, not funny haha)......
sophie..This problem is almost certainly a nervous problem and no big deal.
However, might I suggest that you get this checked with your GP to exclude thyroid disorders (Hashimoto's Disease) or cervical spondylosis............both disorders could irritate the swallowing mechanism.
