I am with these dear people who deliver our mail for us, I hate the idea of the big guns bullying them into what will end up, part time jobs for all!
I know! wrong section, but you lot don't dress the answers up, you say it as it is...lol

I tend to think if you're not happy get another job there are plenty of people that are desperate for jobs out there.
Question Author
all of them now usually 20 hrs a week 4get, so the bosses don't have to pay NI and any sickness benefits.
Absolutely agree Bobbi.
4get - why should that be bullied into unemployment? I'm sure they were happy with the job before all the changes.
Question Author
I am all for progress chelle and 4get, but not when the fat cats get away with not looking after their employees
I think they must be dreadfully overworked........that's why they only have time to put a card through your door instead of knocking and giving you your sodding parcel.......
4get its not their jobs they are unhappy with, its the 'modernisation' ie job and wage cuts that RM want to bring in that they are unhappy with.

i'm a bit of a mix change needs to happen but at the what cost?
i f'in hate posties and have trained my cats to attack them
yes craft that rteally annoys me too, i don't want to walk nearly a mile to collect something I've paid delivery for!
But I don't blame my postie, it's management that are making a mess of it for everyone,
in that case I agree...give them all full-time jobs on double pay.....and put the price of a stamp up to £1.00...simples.....
Question Author
they are skirting around going to ACAS (the bosses)
I think too many of these big bosses try to follow the Thatcher approach, they don't give a toss for peoples lives!
They simply won't be able to manage on their part time pay 4get. So they will have to look elswewhere for full time work - and as you know they won't find much round here. Our lady postie works very hard and does everything she can to be helpful. We do need progress but what is being proposed only brings more into the hands of the fat cats, as others have said. So I am with them. What else can they do? Things only get changed as a result of rebellion! unfortunately.
Question Author
just full time work would be a start craft, thats the way it always was for the working man, either way, it will cost us!
most would have to claim this familty tax credit thing if they were part time, and who pays for that?
Our regular Postie did in actually fact vote against the Strike but has gone along with the Majority.
Funnily enough had Mail delivered today even though they are out on Strike.......craft1948 must have delivered it on her Smart Broomstick !! lol
So where is all the work going to come from to ocupy them fully................how many letters a day do you write.....you don't.....you send emails......
Far more parcel post than there ever was craft because of internet shopping. And business letters still come out to addresses even if they have been emailed first. We still get loads of post.
We got post today. I think it's just Royal Mail sorters that are striking.
Question Author
they would have to trim off the workforce by natural wastage to run th PO economically of cause, but there will be 20 hr contracts if the bosses have their own way
I got post today too... although most of it was crafts...
were there any dodgy catalogues snags?
Some may call them dodgy... I found them quite exciting. There's a great pic of you on page 23...
