I went to the Drs this morning and he measured and weighed me - I'm 5.11 and weigh 13 stone exactly which, according to his little chart, gives me a BMI of 25.4 and therefore I'm officially overweight, or, to give it its technical name, a Fat B4stard.
I have a 34" waist.
Given that BMI takes no account of body composition (I have fairly big legs and shoulders from years of rugby - in fact, I weigh less now than I did when I was playing regularly), is it a fair comment to state that the BMI index is a load of rubbish and should be ignored?
How can you be fat Salla. You are officially 'normal.' Well weight wise that is. I am tall too and I calculated my BMI the other day at the weight I was when I was 25. I was borderline 'underweight'. A lot can happen in 40 years!! I don't look overweight though, just saggy and baggy!!!
flip flop. According to this you are borderline, and your suggested weight can go up to 13st. 3lbs!!! However it still says you are Overweight! What a load of bunkum!!!
