Swine flu jab or not? Please help......

Hi All,
I've been invited in for a swine flu jab and I'm not sure whether to have it or not. I'm just over 38 weeks pregnant.
I know baby will be protected too if I have it, but I'm also a bit scared that there hasn't been enough research on it yet. Would love some opinions on what you would do in my situation Please......

Hi I am almost 35 weeks pregnant and am having mine on Mon. It does worry me slightly about the possible risks but I think the benefits outway this.
My husband knows someone who's pregnant wife caught swine flu. This developed into pneumonia and the baby died, she was 30 weeks at the time. She herself nearly died but is now making a recovery.
I know this is extreme and rare but I think people like us who are almost full term into pregnancy have ourselves to think about more. The baby is obviously fully developed now, I think I would be more worried if I was earlier on.
My midwife told me she is seeing lots of very ill pregnant women in hospital at the moment and she thought I should go ahead with the jab.
I just think I couldn't do it to my family, especially my 5yr old daughter, if I refused the jab and got ill or worse.
It is your decision though of course and only you can decide which is the right choice for you.

I can't decide either.
I'm 36 weeks.
I see the benefits of both having the jab and not having the jab.
I would like to have it because of the pneumonia risk etc, but I dont want to have the jab and then wait and see if its affected my son in anyway.
Its a tough one. My risk is quite high also as I'm still working full time interviewing foreign nationals, and so obviously sit face to face with people who've been all over the place.
I think if I was at 38 weeks I wouldn't get the jab. Just lock myself indoors :o) lol

Thanks for your answers ladies. I think I'm gonna sleep on this and see how I feel after the weekend. My husband is swaying towards me not having it, and I think I am too. Maybe the baby will turn up over the weekend and take the decision out of my hands lol

I'm not an expert but you are both late into your pregnancies and well past the stage when the baby is doing all the vital development. It's the early stages of pregnancy that would worry me more. There were lots of preggy ladies having the jab when I went last week.
