I've always had a strange relationship with sausagemeat.

No - I'm not vying for the 'bizarrest thread title of the week' - this is leading on from an answer I gave on another thread. As a child I would sneak into the pantry, squeeze the sausagemeat out of a sausage, and eat it raw. Sounds gross now - but I used to love it. I also used to eat raw (peeled) potato.

Maybe that's why I was so skinny as a child - I must have had worms for 10+ years.

What strange things did you used to like to eat as a youngster, which you would not dream of eating now?

I just cannot compete salla - my mother did however make her own baked beans as she did not agree with the tinned ones. These were soya beans with an insipid tomato sauce - disgusting. Plus this stuff callede 'yarrow tea' which was given to me for high temperatures. I literally heave when I think of my childhood !

My mum would have been horrified if she'd have known it was me who was eating the sausagemeat. I think she used to blame the butcher for shortchanging her on the sausages...

i used to eat lemons and dried prunes with salt and liquoroice (still do) till i got mouth ulcers
Just cooked spaghetti with grated cheddar on it - no bolognese or anything like that - just spaghetti and cheese.

Talking of sausagemeat - why can't you buy sausages that are not full of lumps of fat. I have tried various brands but they all have large amounts of fat in them. Even the low fat ones - if you cut the sausage open you can see the lumps of preformed fat placed in them. WHY ! is it to make the weight up ?

I was a fussy eater as a child - I had one of those dishes with two sections in them - I would never have my pudding and custard together.

I used to and still do eat raw bacon. I cant help but steal a bit before I cook it. Mmmmm
I am just remembering raw onion sandwiches with tomato ketchup - I was a fragrant youngster

What a weird wonderful lot we are!
Cant_do - won't make any obvious jokes as suggested - no need!
Can't-do - I have tried turkey sausages but they taste a bit cardboardy.

Oh yeh but I wasnt too fond of them - they ponged a bit !
I used to like raw sausagemeat too, (beef links tho, I was fussy)
bonio dog biscuits oh ant tea leaves (not at the same time)

I still like raw bacon with the fat on
