Does anyone have a son/daughter who is an emo? My son has started to become one. Is it just a fashion, or a 'way of life?' How long should I expect it to last? He is 13. Thanks.x

emo isn't really much of a bad thing. its just showing natural signs of deep depression. it will dissapear in months to years but generally leaving it is the best thing to do! i should know.

also, generally its because teens get depressed easily during "puberty".

he's 13 and wants to "fit in" by dressing the part. you can't assume he is depressed.

good point. i get depressed for no reason though. and that could lead to emodom. or maybe he wants to do the oppisit of what you said , sara3, and stand OUT!
