Help Labyrinthitis info

I was diagnosed with viral labyrinthitis 10 weeks ago. I still feel head heavy, pain between the eyes, and constant rocking sensation which does not go away. I am not dizzy, nauseous, or vomiting. Very fatigued. Is this normal to last this long?

It can, its a horrible thing. Have you been back to the doc as he may be able to prescribe something helpful, also there are things called cooksey coxon exercises that can help some people manage the symptoms

viral labrinthitis is a most miserable condition and does not elicit much sympathy because people do not realise how awful you feel.    Unfortunately it is a condition that lasts quite a long time, though not as severe as the first onset and it gradually gets a bit better, unfortunately it can return though often not as severely.   You have my sincere sympathy and hope as the days pass you will begin to feel better. Sorry PaulaMc:  What is Labyrinthitis?  I too feel constantly tired and have constant headaches, sometimes just dull aches and other times heavy pressure.  Feel sometimes sick and strange chest pains...  perhaps I am another sufferer??

The labyrinth is the anatomical term for the internal ear, it consists of the vestibule, cochlea, and the canals. Sorry but I can't give you a detailed anatomy lecture here but if you want to know more you can seach the internet for information.

Whenever you come across any term ending with an "-itis", it always means inflammation. Thus, if labyrinth is the internal ear, then labyrinthitis is the inflammation of the inner ear. And that goes for cases like tonsilitis (inflammation of the tonsils), pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas), appendicitis (inflammtion of the appendix). labyrinthitis is also known as "otitis interna".
