Hi i would like to work as a private carer

I would like to work as a private carer. This could be anything from helping someone get up to doing their shopping. Could i just place an advert in my local paper. Would i need to register with anyone and is there anyone else i would need to contact. I am currently working as a carer and love my job but would like to reduce my hours. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for that, I could use an agency but am finding that they want me to work full or part time (which is still 20 hours). As i have a daughter, my work needs to fit in around when she is at school. Then of course there is school holidays and teacher training days. As i am currently working as a carer im sure there is a demand for help around the house ect.

I think you will find that if you are working with the elderly or vulnerable, or with young children, you will also have to undergo a Criminal Records Bureau check as well. Your local Social Services Department at the Council will probably be able to provide more information on how you go about this.

Y not advertise in your newagents small ads. Private caring would keep the elderly out of homes and thereby save the family's assets. My kids are planning same for me as soon as I lose my marbles ;)
