Hey guys...

Do you have any birthmarks?

Or do you have any scars or war wounds you've acquired since or during your childhood. I have a beauty spot on the back of my neck and a scar on my right lower leg. The scar on my leg happened when I was sitting outside as a child, and a young lad rode past me on his bike. He had a piece of wire sticking out of his foot pedal, and as he rode past, it sliced through my leg.

What about you?

i have slit/cut scars in my left arm, i self harmed 13 years ago, tried to kill myself
Hi NoM - Just a slight scar on my right hand where i was scratched with a nail - it ruined my chances of becoming a hand model and turned my life in a completely different direction - lol
ouch, that sounds painful!

I have a small birthmark on the top of my right arm, like a thumb print. I have a few scars from various ops.. the last one going across my eyelid :o/
a scar on my right knee where I fell down playing hockey at school

oh and the hysterectomy one too..lol
Too many to go through NoM. Look a bit like an AA map. Have been called accident prone in the past but that is unjust. I do an inordinate amount of diy so I think my battle scars are fairly in proportion to the efforts made. As a school kid I used to have a Raleigh speed bike and that didn't help either!
No birthmarks, but loads of wee scars on hands, legs and feet (I'm very clumsy), and some on my forehead from putting my head through a windscreen.

Hi Suzie, Sara and Peri ! x

Were you hoping to make a living out of hand modelling, Peri?

Sara.... is it anything like the thumb print of St. Peter on a John Dory? ;-)
NoM - I would have made my fortune - but hey ho !

So you've acquired a few war wounds over the years, Moucha? !

Bobbi... you too?

Karen... Wow ! How did you come to put your head through a windscreen? Ouch !
Doc ...

"Guys" includes girls ...

In the same way that

"Mankind" includes women

"Human" can also be women

Chairman can also be a woman (despite all the weirdos who insist on being called the "Chairwoman" or, even worse, the "Chair")

I generally greet my girlfriends as "Hi guys"
I have a large birthmark on my knee, I forget its there until someone who has never seen it before says something like "that looks sore, how did you do that?" !
Oh yes, however I have never had to have a stitch, anti tetanus nor plaster of paris applied, despite several trips to A & E! Mind you I haven't won the lottery either
I got knocked down by a drunk driver a few years back. I have a big dent in my leg where he made impact too - very fetching it is :)

Well, no, Doc.

But I'd like to think that the hymn "The Family Of Man"

... includes women, otherwise we miss out a bit.
I have a very faint scar under my eye where my sister hit me with a swingball bat when i was younger (it was my own fault, i got in the way) and i have a banging headache which i am starting to think will last forever, i feel down the stairs at my sisters earlier this evening! I also have a scar in my arm where my sisters dog scratched me, hmmm funny how everything seems to link to my sister in some way. lol
"Man" as a collective noun obviously includes women.

Bronowski's "The Ascent Of Man" for instance.

I think the fiminists who whinge on about words like "chairman" just give women a bad name, and make us look petty.
^ that was meant to say fell, ooops
