Is it possible that the enclosure that the rabbits are in is too small? Both type of pellets are 'deposited' in different areas so as not to be conteminated. In a cage or small run the rabbits often get confused as the whole encosure smells like the end product.

By rich food I mean the pellet / cereal type food which should only be given in small quantities, with hay being the main part of the diet and an odd treat of veg. Since I reduced the pellets my bunies are slimmer (which helps with the consumption of the soft poo straight from the backend) and there is no soft poo left for them to trample in. Hope this helps.
