Did you or do you act differently in front of your parents? Do they still treat you as 'children'?
I never swore in front of mine at all, I just would never contemplate this and I suppose I was still treat as a child, for all my Dad was in th RAF for a long time, he was strict but soft with me, I was never allowed 'sleepovers' as they have now, his philosophy was "you have a bed here" yet when I was married way back in 1968, he always insisted on giving me my pocket money..lol, even when I became a Mum !
He never knew that I smoked either, neither did my Mum

I act completely differently in front of my mother - I clam up totally as everything I ever say or said is picked up on and that gets tedious after 50 years. Morning bobbi !

my daughter hasn't swore infront of me or Bill, I would imagine she does tho' when her and Michael are rowing..lol

the younger kids are a bit different as the odd word does escape - and no matter what you say their friends are using language all the time. My 12 year old showed me a text from a friend and apologised for the language whilst explaining to me that they all do it. She knows I dont approve and I havent heard her using any yet

I agree peri, I am not saying all kids don't, muy daughters 40 next year, I think kids would feel left out in the cold now if they didn't know what swearing was about..lol

i'm much quieter around my mum, my dad i'm pretty much the same

yep I was the same fluffs, I was unfortunate to lose my Mum when I was only 26

I act as I do normally around my Mum: we are very similar in sense of humour and general outlook. Dad is no longer here but I was definitely more reserved around him when he was... we never had any real 'link'...

aww that's sad Bobbi. my mum is very errrrr opinionated and i find it easier just to shut up or world war 3 breaks out :-)

I'm more reserved around my mother and more or less the same with my father. My father and I just have more in common and the relationship is easier. I still get on with my mother well enough...most of the time.

looking back now, I may have been the same nature as my Mum was, I would rather give than take and she was the same, infact sometimes if I'm doing my hair or putting make up on, I see her face staring back at me in the mirror !

My dad died when I was 18 - twas tough. I met my husband the year after - I always wonder how they would have got on !

yes peri I'm with you there, I think my Dad would have loved Bill, both in the RAF and both very gentle-men too

My Dad always use to treat me as a child. I use to go to his house after the pub and he'd make me a pack up to take home and insist on giving me taxi fair even though I had my own money.
