glandular fever symptons but allready had it???

hey everyone
for the last couple days i have been feeling vrey unwell:
dizziness
loss of interest in food
headaches
sore throat
tiredness
aches and pains everywhere

i visited my doctor this morning but he was useless and just told me it was a cold but i feel awful.
i had glandualr fever when i was younger and heard you cannot catch it twice??
i have also had my tonsils out so cant have tonsilitus...anyone have any rough ideas what else it could be as im taking time off work becasue i feel that rough and they are starting to question.....

Yes, one can have glandular fever twice and a simple blood test will rule that out, however your symptoms are more consistent with a viral infection.

Dr was "useless" eh, so you have come on to the informed advisers of AB.

I have had glandular fever more than once (confirmed with sputum and blood tests) so you could have it. Unless you are understating how bad you feel I don't think you do have it though as I would be unable to get out of bed let alone be posting on a forum.

i have had it before and unfortunately due to having a small child i cannot stay in bed i just know its not a cold

maybe its flu, plenty of it about at the moment.
Those symptoms are not just of glandular fever.

Only a couple of days? It's most likely to be one of many viruses going around and I think you'd have to feel like that for much longer before glandular fever was considered. Keep warm plenty of fluids & take paracetemol, I'm sure you'll be better soon.
