On my way home this evening, I called in to a local kebab shop to order some food to take home. The man behind the counter who served me licked his finger before doing everything, including picking up the paper in which to wrap my food, the plastic bag to put it in etc.
When I complained, he became very abusive, eventually telling me to f** off out of the shop.
Why on earth do people do this? Why is it necessary for people to put their saliva on their fingers before picking things up? Am I being unreasonable in reporting the kebab shop to the Food Standards Agency...?
Oh! horrific! I always watch closely when buying takeaway food, if I see anything like this I just leave................without the food! ...................Rather go hungry!!
Hard to cook without using fingers, have to use them to put on gloves, how far does the 'no contact' go? Cooking kills most germs and contact with others, for a healthy person, builds up your antibodies. Try not to 'baloon' yourself against others.

I know all those things are disgusting but if you don't see them they don't hurt you so just try to not acknowledge it. For all you know a waiter serving you could have ten minutes beforehand urinated all over his hands and not washed them. That has probably happened before and it hasn't done you any harm, as you were unawares.
you've all brought back memories for me with this discussion. I worked in a large supermarket years back & the man I was serving had his store loyalty card just held inside his mouth the whole time I was serving him & when the time came for him to hand this to me I took it by the edge to swipe it. In disbelief he shouted at me "what's the problem" & told him quite politely (but to the point) that I didn't want his germs!! He went loopy & reported me to the customer service desk on his way out. why do people do this sort of thing. I'll never forget his face!!
I was in a coffee shop with my daughter, we asked for coffee and a slice of Gateux, the young man serving took a large knife and cut a slice of Gateux with the help of the knife and his fingers he placed it on the plate then went to cut another slice, this time he licked the cream off his fingers before cutting the next slice... I said "Please wash your hands before you handle any more Gateux" carrying on slicing he said "my hands are perfectly clean" licking more cream off his fingers... We Walked Out.
