Hi dot as yet havent made a decision, been having crazy dreams the last few days makes it even worse knowing she is in my cupboard would love to hear others thoughts
My parents are in a grave that i can never bring myself to visit on my own, I wish they had wanted cremation, well actually my Mum did but my Dad wanted her buried so she didnlt get her wish : (
Question Author
Dot my dad was interred with no headstone, and i have i think to sprinkle her ashes over his grave dam it i cant find him
you don't have to scatter them, you can bury them as you would a body. Meantime, can you put them in an urn rather than a bag?
Question Author
jno she is in a box and in a rather posh bag
If your Dad is in a Parish graveyard you can ask the vicar to give you permission to bury them with him and the vicar will read over them, or if it is in a civic cemetary i don't know wheher they need you to tell them, but it would leave a paper trail in their records for your descendants if you did
Gucci bag, eh? Well, you aren't obliged to scatter the ashes anywhere just because she wanted it - if it's not possible because you can't find it then you can consider other methods of disposal. (Ugh, disposal sounds a horrid word.) Scatter them at sea, in her favourite park, or just keep them on the mantelpiece.
Poddi, you could always bury her ashes; after my aunt was cremated my sister buried her ashes buried with engraved headstone and all...
Have you chatted this through with your sister and family poodi? There need be no undue rush about this - take time to make a decision with which you are all happy.
or make them intoa diamond and wear them

poodi there is no hurry to do anything with mum, she will be quite happy in the cupboard till you and your family fell ready to move on and decide where you want her to be, she would not want you to make any hasty decisions until you are sure what you all feel is right xxx
Question Author
Thanks jno but no, think she should be scattered over dads grave or somewhere poignant for her,its not easy making that decision
Take your time Poodi and the weird dreams are all part of it, I had one yesterday and I buried my darling Bill 18 months ago, they come and go. You should be able to find Dads grave with little trouble if thats what you feel.

Take care sweetheart ♥
Scattered my mum's ashes in the garden - her favourite place and my father's ashes were scattered on a calm sea where he always enjoyed many a day. Both choices seemed perfect at the time and have not been regretted since.
Question Author
mama did you get horrid dreams like bill wasnt buried right or even not cremated right
mamya is right the dreams are all part of it i still dream about my mum and shes been gone 8 years , i still talk to her as well (i know send for the men in white coats) but its whatever gets you through xxx
Hi Poodicat.
I'm sadly going away to my Aunt's funeral on Weds and I think what my Uncle is doing with her ashes is a lovely thing and it may give you an idea of what you could do.
He is having a glass heart blown and will place her ashes in there. His wishes after he has died is to have his ashes put in with hers so they will be together again forever. He hasn't quite worked out what happens to the glass heart then but I think prehaps for it to be buried somewhere they loved would be nice.
He is also going to scatter some in the garden she loved and take some to the Scilly Isles as they went every year and she loved the place.

My Dad's ashes are buried at Studley Roger under a tree we had planted as he loved going there and he has a fantastic view of Ripon cathedral in the distance.

There's no rush Poodi, it's still such a difficult time for you xx
My worst dreams poodi are that he`s cold and I want to go and see if he`s ok, as you say its bizarre but its normal because we love them so .
