Wedding Favour Ideas - Horse Racing!???
16 Answers
Im getting married next year at Aintree Racecourse, Liverpool (home of the Grand National).
As much as possible I am trying to ensure I have unique ideas for various things - one being my wedding favours. Can anyone think of something unusual as a favour that will make my guests be impressed!! LOL!
Many thanks

Horseshoes are definitely toooo cheesy ... something stylish and nice. I was thinking about seeing what horse racing was on that day and maybe putting £1 on various horses to WIN!!!! On the understanding any substantial wins are split with bride/groom ...........
Just want something different

tgm, sponsoring a race would mean that it would be officially called the Mrs & Mrs X horserace. This is done mostly by companies for advertising, but is increasingly being done for weddings/anniversaries/etc. For example: The 16:40 at Southwell on Tuesday is the "Ken and Vera Wallage Diamond Anniversary Handicap Hurdle". This will then be the official name of the race and printed as such in all of the media (papers, tv, racecard, the lot).
Clearly this only makes sense if you sponsor a race at Aintree on the day of your wedding. Are you sure there is actually racing on that day (Aintree only operates for Grand National meeting and about 6 other meetings throughout the year).

Here is the AIntree link where they talk about sponsorship, but looks like you would need to talk to them for prices to sponsor a race http://www.aintree.co...tising-opportunities/
ANd this link shows the race meetings for the coming year so you can check there will be a meeting on your special day:

No there is no race on our wedding day ... but I could do it for another location as its still racing theme and just change things round a bit ..... ohhh I will think this over and see what I can come up with. This is my fave alongside the betting on a horse per person (£1 only) .....
I just wanted to try and stay with the racing aspect but if anyone has any brilliant and unusual "more normal" ideas then throw them my way - LOL!
Cheers everyone
