Our council flat was recently modernised (their word) . We had the bath removed and a disability shower enclosure fitted. This room also has wc and basin. We have no window and previously had an extractor fan which they have removed. An Envirovent system was installed which has a vent into the hall and kitchen . This system draws air from outside , heats it and blows it through the 2 vents, in all a glorified fan heater in my opinion. This system has no vent to the shower/wc room and does not extract that I can see.
Problem obviously with use of shower, condensation, and use of toilet, odours. I have considered contacting environmental health as council appear unconcerned with this issue, which incidently many of are neighbours are left with.
So does this fancy 'Envirovent' remove the water vapour from the steamy bathroom and turn it back into water - then dispatch the remaining air back into the house? - big trouble if it doesn't. Ask them how this meets Building Regs (the requirement for ventilation).
