Because he was stuffing himself full of carbohydrates every day as he needed the energy to keep running. Saw one night he ate nothing but potatoes for his evening meal, and loads of them. Mind you he did feel ill afterwards.

I'd like to think he did the 43 but I have my doubts, a seasoned pro would struggle so how did a chubby bloke with no fitness do it ?

Because he's one of those stubborn s0ds who would have done it whatever the obstacles. Some people are like that, most of us not.

All those marathons are fine, but if you do them at the slow speed he did then, not much weight loss I'm afraid. Anyone can do marathons given enough time.

I'm just peeved because he ran past the end of our road and we never knew about it. If we had, we'd have gone down to cheer him on.
