Noctornal epilepsy and human insulin.
6 Answers
My boyfriend age 43 has type 1 diabetes. A number of years ago he was put on human insulin. He had bad reactions to it - so now has extreme fatigue, sickness and MOST of all it caused night time epileptic fits which he is on tablets for now. It took the "Specialists" 3 years to realise there was a problem. resulting now to my B/F not being able to control suger levels properly - way too high 1 min then drops like a stone a short time later. My question to you all is ... Have any of you had or got the same problem with human insulin and what have you done about it? as the "Specialists" refuse to admit they got it wrong and keep saying "it's in the genes". THANKS

Before you do anything, look at diet. Keep it vegetarian, healthy and sugar-free. And delicious. Increase water intake and maintain gentle exercise - 20 minutes' brisk walking every day. Im afraid I can't speak of drugs as I'm 63 and just follow this regime, so I don't need them and don't have a single ailment.
Well Beryl you stick to your regime evidently it works for you, 63 and no drugs and don't have a single ailment? I hope you realise what a lucky lady you are. I hope it stays that way for you.
Angie whatever Insulin I'm on doesn't mean its suitable for your BF(Mixtard 30-70 (its a mix of 2 difft Insulins) One quick acting and Ons slow acting.
His diabetic Consultant will know other insulins (or Google) but one must take medical advice on this.
