Am I the only person who has to cope with sores on my tongue after I have the flu or other minor infection? Sometimes they are on my gums, there appears to be nothing to do about them other than suffer. Warm salt water does help a little. I guess they are viral cold sores. Sometimes they spread several places in my mouth. I guess things could be worse, like having a terminal disease. Thanks for listening to my bitching.

No, you're not alone, I get them too sometimes, I have a cold sore on my lip at the moment which burst up last night. Go see your pharmacist, they will suggest something to help heal and take away the soreness.

Thanks both for replying, I looked at the website; it was very interesting. I have never smoked but I have inhaled everyone else's smoke. I have tried nearly all of those remedies that are mentioned. I could see why someone would keep smoking if they didn't have to deal with sores. Their description of pain, misery, crabiness, I can relate to. I have had these since I was 7 y.o. As I mentioned they usually appear after flu, cold, sinus problems. I think they may be an autoimmune problem. I think I will go swish with salt water. I think dry mouth also exaberates the problem.
Hi Nohorn
Used to suffer with the same thing and used two methods : 1) ADCORTYL in Orabase (from the chemist, quite expensive but it works !) 2) In conjunction with number 1, a course of Vitamin B tablets for 3 to 6 months.(Also from chemist). I suffered badly for ages until I used the above - that was 15+ years ago, never looked back. Keep us posted.
Good luck

To FBX40: I will write that name down and get some. Makes me very happy to have HOPE. To put something on sores and shorten their life would be great. I usually put orojel (overthe counter), they run the course and go away when they feel like it.
Thanks
Hi again Nohorn
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I have just found out that Adcortyl is no longer available !! Going to post a question now to see if any body can help.
