why cant people stick to one name on here !!!!!!

I dont know why but its really bugging me that so many answerbankers use more than one name on here.
it doesnt always have to be for troll type purposes
i dont get it??? why ????
why cant you just stick to one name then what you see is what you get people then believe what you write about yourself more.
like i said yesterday im starting to have my doubts about one or two users on here and how "genuine" they are . ITS not a life or death situation or nothing just somthing thats bugging me a little, there ive said i feel better now .... and breathe lol

im not going to say redhelen like i say the people i know for a fact that use more than one name come across as being nice people, and it wouldnt be fair to single them out
its just i am beggining to doubt how genuine these people are
no big deal just a little annoying i dont want to turn it in to a witch hunt like the whole
mr veritas situation, i just wanted to get it off my chest x

I have more than one name. Quite a few old users do because the banning system was different a few years back. You only had to have 3 reports and you were temporarily suspended. If someone didn't like you they'd report you. You also got banned for over posting.....

My names are variations of 'ummmm' and I have a spare in case I want to ask a serious question.

Depends what the question is. You speak to people on a daily basis and become familiar with them. I might not want to disclose who I am if it's personal.

I don't use the other names.

I know you weren't naming names, but I will,well, one anyway. We all know Yogi has at least 3 names (Yogi, Equaliser and Quention Crisp).

As Much as I like the guy, and I do- he's sound, I've never figured out why he's got 3 names. It does seem that as long as multiple names arent used for trolling or suchlike, it's tolerated by Ed & Co.

Ive just the one name.
You'll fifnd this question has been asked on CB/AB from time immorial -comes with the territory.
I just answer everyone at 'face value' and then if they are iffy with me then I just avoid them.

Well I did say "at least" Sara ;-)

I wouldn't be bothered talking to Yogi, or indeed anyone, under a different name, if they, when talking told me who they were outright. To me it seems all too often, that they tell folk on a particular thread, but unless you've seen that thread you're still in the dark. I do find that a bit under-hand (for want of a better word),and I am slightly miffed if and when I find out who they really are.

I got harassed by someone after only a couple of weeks on here and she had, by my reckoning, 5 identities, 1 of which was a "man".

I have a back up name, but don't use it.

No, sorry, i didn't mean to single Yogi out (sorry Yogi if you read this), he was just the only one who I could think of at this time of morning (only on my 1st coffee you know!) who had a few names.

I'm sure there's lots more folk, and they too could use those names just as innocently as Yogi, but I can't think who.
