Is this a generic term for all infections in this area?

I was at GP this morning-had had the cold from 2wks back and its gradually deteriorated to productive cough, wheeziness and lethargy -in other words feel like sh!t.

On 500mg penicillin three times a day for a week.Thats fine.

However he sounded my back and said it was damp all over.

Anyone (Sqad lol) have any idea what this mean in laymans terms?

Very broadly...yes.....Bronchitis.

"Damp all over" refers to the moist, wet sounds that are heard through the stethoscope of somebody with chest problems.

Thanks Sqad x
Its like drawing teeth with this particular GP -unless you specifically nail him down he would just give you a script and grunt.
Sorry to hear you are poorly Dris - I think most GP's are not good at communicating. I always ask loads of questions and don't move until I get an answer ha ha
Ive got a quack like that Dris, your lucky if you get 5 minutes with him, and hes the senior partner of the practice, miserable old rich Git.

trt -im sure we must have the same GP -he's the p/t Senior Partner as well.Mind you when I get him I know i'll get taken on time !!
And that will explain why your cough is so productive, Dris. I thought Doc's tended to prescribe Amoxycillin for respiratorial infections?

It is Amoxycillin NoM just couldnt spell it until you did lol!!
Its downstairs in my bag and I couldnt be bothered going to get the box :)
Aha.... !

Yeah, my friend with the COPD used to take Amoxycillin, erythromycin and another one on rotation.

How are you, apart from a nasty infection? X
