Briefly my friend rang me this morning very distressed. She said that on several occassions recently when she looks in a mirror, say to comb her hair her head seems to be trembling very slightly. As she focuses on herself she can see very small tremors.
Also during the last few months she feels she needs to concentrate on her walking , because she feels she will fall over, she added that at times she feels off balance and bumps into her furniture.
She has high blood pressure which is well controlled by medication,
She also said that she feels that her manner of walking has changed, and is more jerky than previously.

She is in her early seventies, does not drink alcohol at all and has never smoked.
She has an appointment to see her GP, at the end of next week, but is afraid that he may be dismissive of her.I am very worried about her and do not have any idea of what these things may mean.Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely Brenda.

Her GP will NOT be dismissive of these significant symptoms.
A neurological opinion will be required.
It would be a poor GP who was dismissive of a patient with worries. Even if it were nothing serious the mental distress needs to be put at ease.
