HELP! weird blind spot _ getting bigger right now in minutes!

ive got a blind spot and its getting larger and larger...its like a we i9rd blurred shaped and noticably has a curved but across the bottom edge that its lighter than the rest - its kind of like a sausage...

it was baout the size of a pea at firt now its abouyt a grapefuit width (when lookin at this screen) in about 10 mins!

also its kind of 'wiggly'

in bothe eyes

any ideas?

its happening right now! it started about 15-20 mins ago an is getting bigger every few minutes!

i have only been on the cpmputer about 20 odd minutes too

Is it moving in your field of vision...did it start in the middle,and shift to one corner of your eye>?? Is it wiggling or flashing?

Sounds like a 'classic' migraine....what you seem to be getting is an 'aura'....a headache may follow. I get them several times a year...have done for 20 years or so. It should only last 20 minutes or so.....any longer...see a doctor.

This coulod be an aura migraine joko - I get them regularly. They are caused by a chemical releas in the brain but are not in any way life threatening. Good idea to stop driving any machinery when they occur though! Mine can last anything from 15 - 45 mins usually. No problem once they are gone. Medication can be given to ease the situation - I don't have anything for them as they would upset the meds I am already on for more serious health problems. Do you find the problem is still there if you close your eyes? I do. For the duration of mine I cannot focus properly to see a screen, read or write. I usually just take a ciggie break and return to work a few mins after an occurrence. Don't panic and just see a dr or optician. Good luck

Aye -I would go with NHS24 to be honest.
Ive only had to call them twice and each time they have been spot on -I have every confidence in them.

just phoned nhs...not really any help, just said see my gp in the morning

pasta and ttfn sound spot on...patsa that is exaclty what happened its right at he outer egde of my eye now....loike i wiggling zigzag...its seems like its oculd be easing off now too..

ivenot had any booze or drugs so nothing like that...

how weird,,,i hardly ever get headaches

just looked online too abn it says if its sudden an its glaucoma its a medical emergenct=...my aubtie had that, but i was checked aboutu 3 yeards ago anf was clear

joko...read some of the comments on the link.........it is most likely nothing to worry about,as it sounds as if it has finished. I often feel somewhat disorientated after.

ahh pasta, that is exactly it...except for the colours...mine was justy black and white really...

looks like ill have tp get ready for a headache shortly i guess....bah!

Glad it is getting better for you joko. Hopefully that is what you have just experienced. The first one I had was very disturbing and got me worried but please don't panic over it. See your g.p. and let him diagnose it for you. Have a good night now and ttfn

Some people get no headache...a good trick is to take dispersable aspirin or paracetamol immediately....stops the headache
