Israeli Football Fans Attacked In...

Heya,
I am curious as to whether peeps follow the perceived view that signet rings should be worn on the left hand fourth finger (little finger in my terms)?
Also, should it be worn with the inscription facing away or towards the wearer?
Further questions then arise such as do men and women have different views on this and if you wear an engagement ring and/or a wedding band,do these alter the 'rules'? If you do,don't they scratch each other?
I gather Princes of the Realm wear their signet and marriage rings on the same little finger?
Cheers,

As they used to be used on wax seals on envelopes I would imagine that they should be worn with the 'top' towards the wearer, so that if put on wax seal, it would be the right way up.
Just looked it up on a site that make signet rings and that says there are no rules, wear it as it feels most comfortable.
