Face cream/gunk

The question below prompted me...
Am I the only woman on here or indeed anywhere who never uses face creams EVER? I have in the past bought pots of 'stuff' and dilligently slapped whatever it was on for about a week or so, then the novelty's worn off and the lid never gets taken off again. It is eventually shoved in the bin.
I never cleanse tone or moistourise (see? I can't even spell it!). Am I committing a major womanly faux pas? Will my face cave in by the time i'm 50 if i don't start slapping gunk on? Or have i left it too late now anyway?
Yours worried....

My grandmother never used a facecream, just soap and water and until the day she died she had virtually no wrinkles and skin like a babies bum. I use moisturiser because my skin feels really taught without it and gets flaky and then gets eczema. I certainly don't use it to provide wrinkles etc. I would wash with soap and water if my skin didn't react, but all I do is wash my face with Dove bar and water and slap on whatever moisturiser I have bought. At the moment it's really nice and cheap from Lidls. The more expensive ones (especially Olay) just bring me out in hives!!
My friend never uses anything except soap and water and has amazing skin.
In fact, my make up consists of one lipstick, neutral sort of colour, mascara, some transluscent powder for when I am really shiny and a concealer for when my skin breaks out in eczma patches.
Noone is going to make a fortune out of me.

I use Clarins cause i work for them & get it for free! Wahoo! Ive noticed a difference with my t-zone, but you do have to use products everyday for 2 weeks if you exfoliate or 6 weeks if you dont, to notice the difference. I'm only 23, so i'm yet to be convinced about anti ageing stuff. However we do have a product thats like polyfiller, which is AMAZING!
Oh my goodness boo! i moisturize twice a day, i think that's the most important thing in my skin care routine to prevent my skin getting old before it's time. The only time i don't do it is if i'm going to a special event that's going to last more than 8 hours e.g a wedding as i find my make up stays on better when my skin is dry. i only do that once in a blue moon though. You really should buy some moisturiser, it only takes 30 seconds to apply it and your skin really will thank you for it
I wash my face with soap and water and rinse realy well, but do exfoliate regularly and moisturise every day, with serum and line filler underneath,, night cream only when my skin gets a bit 'tight' collagen face mask once a week. mostly give makeup a miss though, skin is pretty good for my age but I do have frown lines from years of squinting in the sun (couldn't afford prescription sunglasses thank heavens for specsavers 2-1 offers) Currently using 'age renewal' but next pot is from aldi as it has had such brilliant reviews.
Hi Granny BOO - In the morning, I wash my face, neck & ears with 'Simple Facial Wash Gel', then apply Aldi's Lacura Multi-Intensive Serum. I let that dry, then apply either Aldi's Siana day cream, or Olay Beauty Fluid. I do the same at night, if I'm not too tired, but use Siana night cream. I exfoliate once a week using Simple Facial Scrub, or St. Ives Microderm-Abrasion.
I don't do it to prevent wrinkles (haven't got any yet, thankfully), but because it makes my face & me feel refreshed!
There, that's me done! ;o}

I have all manner of skin creams and serums - ranging from relatively cheap Body SHop and Boots no 7 right up to clinique, estee lauder, clarins, philosophy.
How often do I actually use them? For a few nights after purchase, then I get a bit bored and just use some now & again if my skin looks a bit dry or I actually go to bed sober.
I have been told I look pretty good for my age - certainly no older than me mate Lil who has used creams religiously since the age of 14 and she was Carnival Queen.
I think a lot of it is hereditary. I do use sun cream though.

And it is the sun cream that has done the most good of all of it...
I think a lot has to do with genes and diet and also hydration,, and not smoking...
Regular Sex helps apparently as the increased blood flow during arousal, (the orgasmic flush) helps remove toxins and the increased oxygen/nutrient supply encourages cell renewal.

My skin gets sooo dry if I don't use moisturiser after washing (I know I shouldn't use water on my face but otherwise it doesn't feel clean) but I always slap on moisturiser, I suppose my skin's OK for my age, I am told I look younger than I am but I think this runs in my family, my mum didn;t use face cream and although she was lined, she still didn't look her age. Didn't help me when i was 18 and looked too young so i couldnt get into the night clubs at the time !
tastymorsal - its called instant smooth perfecting touch. It comes in a little red tub for £23. It does last about 6months tho, so you get a good cost per wear. You can either apply it to the areas you feel need it (like around your eyes/ lips or where you have open pores) or mix it with your foundation for a flawless finish. It contains micro pearls that expand up to 20 times with the moisture in your skin to fill the lines. They used it on the set of the Mamma Mia film - even on the men. Apparantley its Meryl Streeps fave product!
