Hi everyone, we hold alot of bbqs/parties throughout the year especially the summer for all our neighbours and friends, its kind of a open invitation thing where they can bring there friends along, just aslong as they bring a bottle or 2 with them. The only thing is both me and my partner seriously dislike my next door neighbours ''best'' friend, we do have our reasons, its not just that she thinks she's chocolate and thinks its ok to berate people, but because she is pure trouble and has almost split my partner and i up before now because of her sarcastic comments and rumours. Anyway she invites herself along and will do anyhting to draw attention to herself and to be quite frank my partner went nuts last sat night and had to walk away before he kicked off at her. He spent the rest of the night in the house because he couldnt bear to be near her, he done this because he didnt want to make everyone feel uncomfortable by kicking off. To try to cut a long story short i went and argued with him about it being our party and if anyon eis to leave then it is her and he said some very harsh, harsh but very true insults about her, all for this to be heard by everyone on our baby monitor lol. Despite her hearing what he thought about her etc you would think she wouldve left.......but no!
Anyway were having another on in a couple of weeks for my father in laws birthday and its going to be a pretty big event. Ive told my neighbour that under no curcumstances is she to bring that friend along with her and why, but the word is that she is the type that invites herself to things anyway. What to do, any suggestions? if she turns up i'll end up smacking her

If she can't really see the problem then maybe you need to make the next couple of parties family and close friends only, as already suggested, and back off from your neighbours a bit as well.
Bigfoot, round here we'd say if she was chocolate she'd eat herself.

our neighbours are our close friends, we live in a fab street and we all get along great. I told my neighbour on the sunday why the night went all a bit off towards then end of the night and she said that she can see why we dont want her friend there, why we couldnt stand her and wont be telling her of the next one. To be honest though i dont think it is getting through to her either, today for instance i asked if she wants to come to zumba with me on thurs nights and she replies ''yeah i would love to, michelle was on about going to zumba too, i'll see if she wants to come too.
