Hi

Please can someone advise on this please!

I had a cancer battle and have recently returned to work, my boss didnt want me to return to my own role straight away as i was on rehab hours, agreement was i would after returning to contract hrs. .

I respected that so have been doing other duties , this week i completed my contracted hrs - boss hasnt reviewed my rehab to see how ive been doing. . .So I asked for a meeting to discuss going back to my position. A colleague who works in the same office had been covering from me..

He stated he would rather me do other duties and listed them, I told him i was not happy and wanted my job - this job is on my contract of employment - as are my contracted hours. He said he had to get someone to cover whilst I was off. . .I was off, which i could not help, now I am back and feel i am having to fight for my job, having just fought for my life. i told him I don't need the stress and just want to be able to come in and do my job! he said to leave it with him and he will come back to me. .

Please help, where do I stand???
It seems so unfair , i only work part time but am very passionate about my job..

Would really appreciate any replies..
Thanks

It would appear to me that your boss is trying to be reasonable by not expecting you to do things before you are fully fit. You may think that you are "back to strength" but in all reality, most people do not give themselves time to fully recover.
Make the most of the situation, and be thankful that your boss is not the type to expect too much from you given your recent battle with illness.
