So Jonathan Ross bows out after 10-years presenting 'Friday Night With Jonathan Ross' for the BBC.
Wasn't too keen on his first guest in last night's show, Mickey Rourke.
Jackie Chan.seemed a very nice honest person, with a cheeky glint in his eyes, very entertaining.
David Beckham, was the last guest, and although in the past I have not had much time for him, last night he came across as a very caring person, and what he said about our brave troops in Afghanistan, should make some on here feel ashamed.
/// The LA Galaxy midfielder spoke about his pre-World Cup trip to visit British troops in Afghanistan.
He said he wanted to raise awareness about the "amazing job" they were doing.
"Everybody needs to realise what these guys are doing, we should be really proud.
"A lot of them said they feel like they're forgotten. I said none of you will ever be forgotten - they're doing the most amazing job I've ever witnessed," he said. ///
Well said David.

Mickey Rourke is a very complex guy and I have alot of respect for his honesty and attitude to the movie industry! And a film with Stallone, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Dolph Lungren, Arnie, I mean!!!

Must admit I've never had much time for Beckham. I've always found him a bit of a Bimbo - reasonably easy on the eye, if you like that sort of thing, but only good at playing football and that's debateable.
But I've got to realising of late that he's probably only really what others have made him out to be. Whether he can read or not doesn't really matter and he's pretty harmless, all told. I mean, it's not as though he's a nasty, arrogant character. He seems to have plenty of time for his fans and to be ready to admit his faults and mistakes in life. Certainly our kids could (and do) have some far worse role models than Becks.

AOG asked for an opinion and I gave him one.
Bad craic if you ask me or the Welsh or the Irish or the Americans or the Canadians or the...........Beckham did a great job without a doubt in raising morale -he should have stopped there.
Im off to a Help for the Heroes benefit tonight......................................

I hate to say this, but of course they'll be forgotten, in ten years time the public won't give a tinker's cuss for the wounded and fallen in Afghanistan or Iraq.
The same way the troops who fought in the Falklands (a popular war) have been forgotten.
AOG, you're a WWII veteran, do you remember "The D-Day Dodgers" how about the troops fighting in Burma?
Who talks about that now?
It tickles me when I hear politicians talk of this golden age when there was "a contract" between ex-soldiers and the government THERE NEVER HAS BEEN SUCH A THING.
Why was Wellington called "The Iron Duke", what happened to the sailors after the battle of Trafalgar and if you're still not convinced then read Sir Evelyn Wood's auto-biography (a major Victorian military celeb, one of the Wolsleley gang, a supposed immortal) when he assumed command of a new regiment.
