It's wise to visit your dentist if not only to make an appointment with a hygienist. Simple anti bacterial mouth wash and brushing can prevent the build up of bacteria, causing the inflammation and bleeding of the gums. Be careful not to use too much anti bacterial mouth wash as it could alter the bacteria/fungi balance in the mouth and give you oral thrush, which will make the situation worse. A physical examination is advised if symptoms persist but generally antibiotics are not required.
