Smelly dishes

Just read the thread about smelly washing,made me thinkI, sometimes I have the problem of smelly dishes.Mainly after chicken or egg,but they smell like a 'wet dog 'Any ideas?(apart from get a dishwasher-I wish)
OH says it never happens to him,but me an the kids get it.It was so stubborn I ended up rinsing with dilute bleach last time.

rinse your already washed dishes in very hot water and a small amount of lemon juice

Sometimes my dishes (washed in the dishwasher) have a bit of a pong to them. My dishwasher is very clean, so I can't figure out why this happens.
