Hi
I have been charged with abh. what happened is me and friends were in a club. me and 1 friend went to the toilets when walking back to the dance floor i barged a girl by accident i turned round and said sorry and she shouted abuse and threw her drink in my face. I therfore threw mine back at her.
She then grabbed my hair and we both fell to the floor. and we had a scuffle on the floor. it lasted literally about 10 seconds. it was broken up by bouncers and my friend.
we then all got asked to leave. Whilst i was waiting for my pother friends outside as they hadnt even known what had happened at this point i was arrested for abh. the police woman had said she has serious injuries to her face. when i got to the police station they said she has had stiches on her chin as i threw a glass at her. which i never.
her friend has also made a witness statement to this.
i am going to plead not guilty of course and now ask my friend to be witness who saw the whole thing.
I am just very worried incase im found guilty of something i didnt do. the other girl could of cut her chin on floor when we fell or anything i did not throw a glass.
Please cn you give me advise and what could happen as i am terrified. iv heard stories of going to prison and all sorts?????

Oh hun I think all you can do is tell the truth. If you have no other previous then surely you will be believed? I would like to think so anyway. This girl sounds like a right devious cow. I guess the moral of the story is learn from this experience and should anything like that happen again, walk away and do not retaliate.
Can you get some legal advice?

The only things you can do now are to arrive at court in plenty of time, dressed smartly. Talk to your solicitor as much as possible before you are called, and ask as many questions as you like, it may help to put your mind at rest.
Above all remain calm. Do not react to the other girl's testimony by shaking your head or protesting, laughing, etc, no matter how ridiculous it sounds to you. Answer all questions truthfully, remembering to speak clearly and be polite at all times. Try your best to remain calm during cross examination, dont let the solicitor from the CPS provoke a reaction out of you.

Friends have family have said ill be fine as just tell the truth and nothing will happen to me. But when I spoke to my solicitor he scared the life out of me saying that if i do get guilty there is a chance of a prison sentence. I could not face that. I would lose my job and everything!
Thats all that scares me as all i have is my friend to back me up but then again thats all she has and a doctors report to say she had stiches in her chin. I think if she has this is from when we fell on the floor. I WISH THERE WAS CCTV :(
