As to how to increase it: strenuous exercise, particularly weight lifting or other anabolic exercise, losing weight (fat can boost oestrogen levels), having sex and, oddly, watching your team win at football. Some herbal remedies, particularly Tribulus Terrestris, are calimed to raise testosterone, but I havent seen reliable data on it.
In athletics dominated by massive aerobic effort, ie marathon running or the Tour de France bicycle race, testosterone levels are markedly depleted. The natural levels of testosterone in an elite endurance athlete (male or female) also contribute greatly to speed of recovery after competition as well as the explosive power required for weight lifting etc.as Incitatus states . There is also evidence to suggest that sperm count in male elite athletes decreases directly after a lengthy endurance event. After a while the depleted testosterone stores return in greater amounts, usually, hence top athletes can become twitchy, moody or even aggresive after a lay off from competition.
Not really. But some people call it "feminization" since when a man has low testosterone, he gets man boobs. Men with low testosterone usually get testosterone supplements like testosterone cream for men.
