Toiletries in Hotels in USA
10 Answers
This is probably a silly question, but I am going on a coach trip around LA, San Francisco, Vegas etc staying in various hotels, i.e. Hiltons etc . I want to take the least possible toiletries with me, I just need to make sure all the places we are staying have shampoo, conditioner, etc. in the rooms. I presume all hotels in USA provide this ? I am wondering cos we stayed in Holiday Inn in brighton a couple of weeks ago and they don't provide any little bottles of toiletries any more. Even breakfast is an extra ! Cut backs I suppose.

i think you can assume toiletries as a given in anythijng other than really basic accomodation - their service levvels and their clientele simply regard thiese things as basic ammenities, so don;t be put of by a UK hotel, they are not typical of the rest of the world.

There are several US chains that provide excellent (full) breakfasts as part of the nightly charge - Hampton Inn, Drury Inn, Holiday Inn Express to name a few. For my money Hampton Inn has the best breakfast (largely based on my opinion that they have the best coffee, which may not matter if you are a tea-drinker). Also agree that toiletries are standard. Most chains will also provide combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, etc on request if you 'forgot" to pack them.
never stayed in a US hotel yet that hasnt provided toiletries, if they are not provided then they will have a hotel shop where u will be able to purchase.Which tour operator are u going with ? Hiltons should provide, what does your itinerary say as to which hotels you will be staying in Marriot always provide and an ironing board in every room [ a god send to travellers always on the move].
have a good holiday, I never take toiletries I buy when I get there [ they are cheaper] and discard on my last day.

Thanks everyone, I find toiletries and shoes are always the heaviest items to pack. we are going with Saga (just old enough ... ) so hope we aren't voted off the coach as we don't feel old or need Zimmerframes yet. Hopefully we don't act or look old either. Sorry oldies, you know what I mean !! Still wearing jeans, shopping in primark and bleach my hair !!
