Have you got long or short hair?
Question Author
shortish, a friend suggested baby oil, and leave it on all night!
Oh god no never put baby oil on hair. Doesnt wash out for days and is so greasy. I remember when I was at school, I'd had a bath night before and put some in there and laid back in it. My mates took pee out of me for days and it wouldnt wash out, looked like a right tramp.
My hair is shoulder length but really damaged from using straighteners every day. I recently changed to Pantenne Repair and Protect shampoo and conditioner. I think it's between £3 and £4 per bottle so not too expensive but it seems to have a nice effect on my hair. It feels a lot softer and the broken short bits around my parting and crown don't stick up like they did. I was always told you shouldn't use Pantenne because it contains a lot of plastic and of course it isn't actually going to repair anything but it certainly looked and felt better.
I've been told to use olive oil. I wouldn't try baby oil. You can get hot oil treatments that are suppose to work. Loads come up if you google...
Herbal Essences Shampoo and Conditioners for split ends (the red bottles).. absolutely brilliant, much better than any Aveda or Clynol professional products, and cheap as chips... Believe me I have tried hundreds of hair products !!
Try VO5 hot oil treatment, but never leave in longer than recommended. I use Charles Worthington conditioner, have done for years. The Boots Expert range do one, I've never tried it but I use the shampoos & they're very good.

re the olive oil, must it be extra virgin ?
Vo5 hot oil is good. But are you getting your hair cut enough? And also try drinking more water
try Vitapoint - it's very reasonably priced - is a leave in one and washes out easily.
I don't think so Anne. When I googled it they said sunflower oil..
oil attracts dust particles to stick to hair, that could lead to dandruff. Use a good creamy conditioner; gives elasticity/movement to hair. Sleep with it on, via a shower cap and rinse off in morning.

I have frizzy hair and use the Aussie stuff - its really good.
