hubby was diagnoised with this 2 weeks ago he has been on antibiotics which he has just finished taking, he has no pain now and the swelling has started to go down, but was wondering if anyone knows how long it takes the swelling to go down completely.

Did you mention the cough to your doctor?(I hope that I have got the right thread)

Swelling....depends... if the swelling is fluid (hydrocoel) then it may need draining before it eventually goes down.
lol. what has a cough got to do with his epididymitis?
This was a very ill chap with a supra pubic catheter, housebound and probably in a chair most of the time. His main complaint was of a swollen testicle, temperature and cough.
In a "bedridden" or sedentary patient with an infection, temperature and cough, one has to consider a DVT and pulmonary embolus as a cause of his cough.
I think you have a stalker Sqad! ;o)
P.S anneasquith......not a situation to" lol" about.

Yes Squad you have the right thread, no he did'nt go to the doctor as the antibiotics kicked in and he started to feel better he decided not to go, he still has the cough it comes and goes hes not coughing all the time, as for the swelling he has had a scan on the testicle and the diagnosis was epididymitis without abscess.
fruitsalad i hope your husband feels better soon, and if any male has had this condition i hope they reply to your question.
fruisalad...yes I remember you saying, but the swelling in his testicle could fluid and only a clinical examination would confirm this.
sqad i wasnt lol about the situation was laughing at your post far from being a stalker ill leave you to get on with giving advice, its nice your available to assist.
