Laura Mercier or MAC Makeup?

Hi everyone - I've been wearing a Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser for the summer in Nude. It's a tiny bit pale, but the coverage is wonderful. I've used the oil free version even though my skin is a tiny bit dry, but it's been fab.

Now I need to buy some foundation. I was thinking of either Silk Creme or Moisturizing Foundation in the Laura Mercier range.

But... and there's always a but. I was reading that MAC foundations are very good too.

Any opinions from the beauty experts here would be great.

For your info. I have fair skin and fair hair with high and low lights... that cover the grey :-) I'm in my mid fifties.
