Allergic to Trimethoprim.?

I went to the doctor on wednesday as I was getting the same symptoms as a month ago. Which was a bladder infection. By thursday morning I was passing blood every time I went for a wee. Took two antibiotics in the day and the bleeding stopped. Also managed to go for a wee without much pain. But this morning woke up with my cheeks hot and puffy in patches. arms the same and one ankle is swollen and very red and hot. half way up my leg. Also have headache and not feeling too good.Haven't taken any tablets today.

This certainly sounds like a hypersensitivity to Trimethoprim.
My advice, go to A@E as you may well need an injection of hydrocortisone.

Many thanks Sqad. I phoned my GP and he said the same as you. So has now left me another script for another antibiotic. He told me just to keep it incase the symptoms of the bladder infection starts up again As I am also allergic to all penicillen it was hard as to what to give me. The hot rash is gone today but my lips are still swollen and sore.
