We are so different its unbelievable, she seems to crave attention all the time,i dont. I'm always being accused of not wanting to listen to her, not true, but when she spouts off about off about this one said this or this one said that i admit my attention span is short.Dont get me wrong i love her to death but while she is ultra sociable loves and craves company, i'm the opposite, and i always end up feeling like crap. We have a good relationship apart fronm this niggle.
my d'ter is a socialite and worries about my insular habits. I go deaf on her prattles and enjoy my solitary life, as its new to me. I think she secretly envies my 'please myself' attitude.
I think Bloomwood we have to accept that although we gave birth to them, they are different people and learn to accept the differences between us., and love them for it.
dont think mine envies anything about me tamborine, but totally does not understand my need for 'me time' .Sorry that sounds quite selfish really but i dont mean to be
how old is she, are you her only female companion. Its also a generation gap, 'we've been there'. I can understand you wanting your space but dont you get that when she's at school or at work ?
she,s 20 tamborine and has gone back to college. She has loads of female and male mates and a long time boyfriend, maybe i'm making too much of it because of an incident tonight, just felt like abit of a rant.
I have a daughter who is a nightmare to me and my ex wife and another daughter who is an Angel.
To late to discuss now but, will tell you more tomorrow.
OH is very laid back, can see both sides, sits on the fence(maybe just as well) She doesn't seem to resent the attention i give him, mind you its not a lot,god i'm begining to think its me with the problem not her!
hahaha.....no it's not you - I'm leading you into guilt. Enjoy your daughter at a pace that suits you, she will respect you more for that when she's older. At present she's just 'bouncing' her thoughts off you.
you r probably right tamborine, she's a lovely kid just likes to harp on, thanks for your input tonight, have enjoyed chatting to you and mamy etc, am off to bed now hope to talk to you again soon x
From 15 to 25 they know it all anyway, so what's left to tell them! LOL! Funny how they need Mums advice when they are in trouble or needing to be bailed out!
my eldest is 19 and we are like chalk and cheese !!!!!
i love her dearly but she snaps at everything i say and seems to cause arguments at the drop of a hat. I am really proud of her but shes so far up her own arse she will eventually turn herself inside out !!! im hopeing by her 20s she will grow out of it !!!!!
