How can i become a gravedigger?

As the title of this question suggests I am thinking of becoming a gravedigger. I hope you all will not think that this is a dead issue, but not sure which bodies to consult for career advice. Not sure what hours are involved in this profession, suppose I may be required to work the Graveyard shift. I know this is not everyone's cup of tea, and hope this career move will not be a grave mistake.

By the way, despite the above puns, this is not a spoof. I really am considering doing this, so sensible answers, please!
