physio query
5 Answers
i went to see a physio/masseur about the top of my back as i get alot of pain there, a lot of weight at the front shall we say. i mentioned that i had a pain in the base of my spine to the right. i think it was from lifting a very heavy box about a month ago. anyway, he got me to put my hand on his shoulder and he kept asking me to breath in and out and pressed down hard on my shoulder and twisted me round to the left, to see how far i could go, it was almost or felt like 180degrees from what he asked me to look at. im now in agony since last monday, it feels like hes made it worse. surely if the pain is on the right of the spine and maybe a disc is slightly sticking out then he should have turned me the other way to make the disc go back in. any advice more than welcome. im having to take ibuprofen every 4-6 hours and im finding it hard to sit down for long periods of time. its making me feel so miserable.

From your description, it doesnt sound like a disc problem.
I don´t know how qualified your Physio is, but I wouldnt have thought that it matter a jot which way he "screwed you".
Despite the diagnosis being i doubt and despite the lack of ease from your painkillers, I would seek medical advice.
