Teeth /Dentures Why are dentures not made sharper

It has taken almost 50 years of chewing gnawing ,clearing meat of bones,trying to open bottles of beer etc ,Yet when It was needed to have dentures ffitted WHY are they so blunt .
BTW the reason I lost my teeth due to the excessive amounts of tablets I needed to take for my illness ,

Why are they called DENTURES I really dislike it New name please.

They're called dentures because false teeth is too much of a mouthful.
You could call them Kigans,[kept In Glass At Night] :-)

Sharper?

Biting your tongue is painful enough... Biting it off, well, I can't imagine.
They're call dentures from the French "dent" meaning tooth.....
and if they are sharp, they cut your tongue - I know.
Hardly a day goes by when I don`t bite either my tongue or my inside cheeks, I`m nearly always spitting out blood as I don`t like the taste of it.

I used to bite my gums lipps etc but now I can't bite anything!!
